Robert Pattinson is an actor who is well known for his roles in the "Twilight" series and as "Batman". He has recently opened up about the pressure men face when it comes to body standards, both in and out of Hollywood. In an interview with ES magazine, Pattinson discussed how trying different diets and calorie restrictions can be addictive and "insidious" for men. He said that even if you are just watching your calorie intake, it can be difficult to realize how difficult it can be until it is too late. He also admitted to trying various fad diets in the past, including eating nothing but potatoes for two weeks as a detox, and the keto diet. Pattinson stated that one of his goals for 2023 is to try consistency when it comes to diet and exercise.
Pattinson has previously spoken about his workout regimen for "The Batman" and how he believes that working out all the time can be problematic. He has said that if you are working out all the time, you are part of the problem and that you set a precedent. He also said that in the 70s actors were not working out as much as they do now and that even James Dean was not exactly ripped. Pattinson also mentioned that he was barely doing anything when it came to working out.
However, Pattinson later admitted that his comments about his workout regimen came back to haunt him in an interview with MovieMaker. He said that he thinks it is embarrassing to talk about how you are working out, especially when playing a character like Batman who needs to be in good shape. He also received backlash from his trainer for making those comments.
In the ES magazine story, Pattinson also revealed a bit about his upcoming film "Mickey 17" directed by Bong Joon-ho, set to be released in March 2024. He spoke about the film as "so crazy" and "a completely different style of working".
